Museo Orodautore: the collection that tells the story of Arezzo’s gold

The Museo Orodautore was created from the collection of the same name: over three hundred pieces of jewellery designed by artists, architects, designers and leading international fashion houses.
The exhibition itinerary unfolds on the ground floor of the historic Palazzo di Fraternita, in the heart of Arezzo, transforming a unique collection of jewels into a permanent museum that narrates the goldsmithing vocation of the area.
The project is the result of a joint effort by the Regione Toscana, the Municipality of Arezzo and the city’s main institutions, who wished to enhance the “gold route” with dedicated spaces that are contemporary and accessible.
It is an invitation to discover gold not only as a precious material, but as an artistic language that continues to evolve.

Our vision

Gold is the thread that links the history of Arezzo to the contemporary world: every jewel is a small architecture of meanings.

A journey through history and design

From Etruscan techniques to contemporary designers, all in one museum

The Museo Orodautore itinerary is conceived as a story in chapters: you enter a multimedia room that introduces the history of Arezzo’s goldsmithing art, from traditional techniques to the birth of the modern district.
You then continue among the jewels of the first editions of Orodautore, the creations dedicated to the city and symbolic places, the homage to Piero della Francesca, up to pieces from the third millennium and collections signed by major fashion houses and designers.
An immersive experience for enthusiasts and the simply curious who want to discover how an idea becomes a piece of auteur jewellery.

Come and discover the Museo Orodautore

The Museo Orodautore was born thanks to the collaboration between the Regione Toscana, the Municipality of Arezzo, the Camera di Commercio, Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, the Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo and the local production sector.
It is a place that gives the territory back its goldsmithing history and, at the same time, a laboratory open to the present, where the culture of jewellery engages in dialogue with research, business and tourism.
