Come and discover the museum where the gold of Arezzo becomes contemporary art

29/05/2025 - 31/03/2026
“… mi posi all’orefice. Omaggio a Vasari”
On the occasion of the 450th anniversary of Giorgio Vasari’s death, Orodautore Museum is dedicating an exhibition path to the great Aretine artist, from 29 May 2025 to 31 March 2026.
More than 25 artists, designers and master goldsmiths – together with several historic companies from the area – interpret Vasari’s figure as painter, architect, scenographer and, above all, as goldsmith and jewellery designer. The exhibition presents jewels and ornaments inspired by his works and by traditional workshop techniques.
Between Piazza Grande and the Logge Vasari
The collection that tells the story of the gold of Arezzo
Orodautore Museum was born from the collection of the same name: over three hundred jewels designed by artists, architects, designers and major international fashion houses.
The exhibition route unfolds inside the historic Palazzo di Fraternita, in the heart of Arezzo, transforming a unique collection of jewellery into a permanent museum that tells the story of the territory’s goldsmith vocation.
The project is the result of a shared effort between Regione Toscana, the Municipality of Arezzo and the city’s main institutions, who wished to enhance the “gold route” through dedicated spaces that are contemporary and accessible.

Our vision
Gold is the thread that links the history of Arezzo to the contemporary world: each jewel is a small architecture of meanings.

Between history, design and fashion
From Etruscan workshops to contemporary fashion designers
The Orodautore Museum trail is designed as a story in chapters: you enter a multimedia room that introduces the history of Arezzo’s goldsmithing, from traditional techniques to the birth of the modern district.
You then move on through the jewels from the first editions of Orodautore, the creations dedicated to the city and its symbolic places, the homage to Piero della Francesca, and finally the pieces of the third millennium and the collections signed by maisons and fashion designers.

Come and discover Orodautore Museum
The Orodautore Museum was born thanks to the collaboration between the Regione Toscana, the Municipality of Arezzo, the Camera di Commercio, Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, the Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo and the local production sector.
It is a place that gives the territory back its goldsmithing history and, at the same time, a laboratory open to the present, where the culture of jewellery engages in dialogue with research, business and tourism.
